Memorial Weekend

It started Saturday with Ella's birthday and a trip to Sunnyside gardens to buy 50 strawberry plants!!  We are excited to get a little planter started with yummy berries.

Uncle Devin's 50th birthday party was Saturday night and Johnna went over the top to make it such an amazing party.  Ella would have been convinced it was her party with the bounce house, piñata and all her cousins there.

At 50 years old Devin even jumped for a while until he hit the wall and then hit the ground and couldn't get up.  HA!

Sunday we visited the cemetery and got to see the beautiful head stone dedicated to my father in law.  It just got finished that week so it was the first time we had seen it and it was emotional.  I am sure it will get easier to go there over time.

Monday we drove up to the Big Butte and took a big drive up to a special spot where Dustin had carved his name as a kid.  He couldn't find "the tree" but that mountain is chucked full of memories for him and his mom so it was a great way to celebrate Memorial Day.

We tried out my new half way tent I got for Mother's Day.  Seemed to be pretty perfect for providing shade and shelter.

Ella found a crawly friend.

And they found lots of wild flowers

Dustin spent a bunch of time hunting for Sego Lilies.  The kids and I had never seen or tasted one so he found a few and dug them up for us to taste.  He also found wild onions.

Molly got tired of waiting and fell asleep on the four wheeler.

Ella and grandma took a walk and found lots of obsidian rock.  Grandma also made a small bouquet of wild flowers to take home to grandpa David's grave.

I entertained myself pretty well with my camera.. as always.

On the way down we saw this beautiful sunset!

It lasted only about 2 minutes and was amazing!

So grateful for good memories.
