Book of Mormon Challenge Accepted

Last October when the Prophet President Nelson challenged all the women from the church to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year my girls and I were there in the room to feel the Spirit of that challenged and talked about it and accepted it.

For the next two months as a family we sat and read from the Book of Mormon.  There were many times we weren't sure we would make it and many times that kids would fall asleep or be distracted, but we continued on and finished.  I felt so very proud of our family for doing this and felt the affirmation of all the promises with an increase in the spirit and more reverence and determination to do what's right.

Dustin was inspired the evening before we finished with an idea to take us into the "mountains" and finish he last chapter together and say prayer.  Considering all the snow on the ground it made for a possibly less reverent experience than he was hoping for, but one we will likely all remember the rest of our lives.

We drove up Bone and trampled through some snow to a clearing under some trees.  We had some tears from wet, cold feet but when we made it Dustin and I took turns finishing the book and we hugged and said a quick prayer.

My goodness, I love these guys with all my heart!!

Dustin helped me over the fence with my 9 month pregnant belly.  Lincoln smiling big for all adventures!

“I feel certain that if, in our homes, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein. The spirit of reverence will increase; mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow. The spirit of contention will depart. Parents will counsel their children in greater love and wisdom. Children will be more responsive and submissive to the counsel of their parents. Righteousness will increase. Faith, hope, and charity—the pure love of Christ—will abound in our homes and lives, bringing in their wake peace, joy, and happiness” (Ensign, May 1980, p. 67).  Marion G Romney

Sand Dunes

One of my kids favorite activities is to drive to Sandy Downs and let the kids play on the mountains of sand.  They love to run and jump and could stay there for hours if we could let them.

It was border line too cold but these girls endured and had so much fun!

They were having fun with different photos too and so was I.

I LOVE MY FAMILY and super love making memories and spending time together.  They truly are the best.

Thyroid Cancer GONE

I went for a 2 year check up at Dr. Abraham's office in SLC and was so happy to get the report that I didn't need to come anymore.  My thyroid cancer has less than 3% chance of reoccurrence and with yearly blood draws we should be good to monitor it.

We took a quick trip down to walk around temple square and let Lincoln stretch his legs.  It was a long time to sit in the car for a quick 10 minute appointment.  I sure love these two boys so much though and feel so, so blessed to be loved by them.

Molly's Baptism

Molly was baptized on August 11, 2018.

We had a good time taking her baptism pictures when we were in San Diego back in May. Such a beautiful day and such a beautiful girl.

She was upset cause I was hassling her about not smiling.  She was grouchy for some strange reason.

She was nervous and excited and so lucky to have her dad by her side to help her.  Tons of friends and family came out to show their love and support.

Her friend Owen came to watch her.  She also watched him back at his baptism in May.  Grandma Carol and Grandma and Grandpa Bateman.  Also Grandma Bitton.

Alan was here from Nampa and got a picture of her riding her hover board in her baptism dress to the church where we met to have a luncheon.  It was a beautiful day.

I'm so proud of my girls for being baptized and choosing to follow the Savior in this life on earth.  I only pray that we can continue as a family to follow Him and his example so that we can find peace and direction through this confused world.  Love this Molly Girl!

Hanging out with Grandma & Grandpa

While we were away on the Palisades hike with the young women, mom and dad kept the 3 younger kids and took them on a RZR ride with Doug and Ann to their dry farm.  They love grandma and grandpa and had such a good time in the sunshine and outdoors.  They even got to play with a cute granddaughter of Doug & Ann's.

Spring TaVaci Concert

Molly had her spring TaVaci concert and did such a good job!  We are always so impressed by the concerts put on by Terri Lent.  She does a fantastic job with this group.  Molly has enjoyed it.  It's so fun to see her enthusiasm as she sings and dances to these songs.  We love this girl and her talent and love for singing!!

Cress Creek Trail

We did a little family "hike" up Cress Creek Trail.  It was fun to get out and be together and make more fun memories with these sweet kids.

These two boys hold my heart!

Man I love this family!
