This has been running through my head over and over this past month. I really get frustrated when I feel unorganized and too busy to think things through in an orderly way. I am a planner through and through. I like to plan what activity we are going to do with the kids, what cleaning I am going to do, etc
every day. I keep asking myself, especially after the migraine last night, "Are you running too fast?" I certainly need to work on this!
Here is a recap of the past few weeks that I have slacked on posting.
Alissa had 4 cavities and Molly 2 at our dentist appointment at the beginning of the month. I guess they have their daddy's teeth. :) We had 3 additional visits to the dentist and possibly one more coming because Alissa's filling doesn't feel quite right still. All 3 were good experiences thanks to great dentist and staff. They did all the cavities with no numbing, just breathing nitrous. It made Molly floppy and tired and Alissa smiley and her hands went wild and floaty. Such good girls! I was proud of them for being so brave.
Dustin and I got to talk in church on the 8th on baptism and preparing to make covenants and we had stake conference on the 15th and 16th. I love the adult stake conference! I learned so much.
I got a new calling to be in the Achievement Days with the 8 year old girls so I'm happy to be with Ella's group. We had lots of fun making cute little button bobby pins, friendship bracelets and learning about the Word of Wisdom this month. I will still be keeping my calling as the Preparedness Coordinator.
We had a little preparedness class at our house on the 13th about building fires. Dustin was nice enough to teach us ladies how to be more prepared and did an excellent job. We made a little fire pit in our back yard a few weeks ago using some rocks we brought back from the Butte over Memorial weekend. Because it was raining we made fires in the garage on a tarp and some dirt until we could go outside and do the fire in order to boil some water. Good times!
We had a little cousin birthday party for Amy at grandma Carol's house.
We had Father's Day. I made a slide show for Dustin and my dad with old photos, actually ALL photos I could find of Dustin and the girls. It was fun and I cried tears of gratitude for these good men I have in my life.

We also missed my father in law David so much that week! We visited his headstone and got a good cry in and then laughed as we talked about some of his favorite things. Then went to grandma Carol's house after. She always makes us feel better.
We planned, bought and prepared food for 200 people for the scout fundraiser on the 21st. We had pork tacos and I cooked and shredded 68 lbs of pork, made the sweet sauce for it and made lots of cilantro dressing. Also picked up all the food which took way too many trips into town.
Thankfully the scouts were ready to help and there were tons of helpers at the dinner.
The company Dustin works for (NRF) had their summer party the next day on the 22nd at Tautphaus park. It's always a great time. We played dress up in the photo booth a few times and watched the kids play on the blow up toys. Mostly because the lines were much shorter there than face painting, balloon characters and the zoo. We had a yummy lunch and a fun time.
From there we quickly headed over to the Scout Encampment where my dad has been working day in and day out with a group of other volunteers to make it an amazing experience for 10,000 scouts from Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. They opened it up to families of the volunteers so we were lucky to get an early tour.
Dad said his project has been these flag poles. They turned out super incredible and in my opinion really set the tone for the campground. Giant America flag, state flags for Wyoming, Montana and Idaho and an Encampment flag. You can see them from quite a ways away because they are set up on a hill pretty central in the camp and on huge poles.
Ella spotted quite a few cactus plants.

Rock climbing and a zip line which Dustin and Ella got to attempt.
They have a family history tent, trading posts, all sorts of good things to offer these boys for a week of memory making and character building.
Ella made it this far up the wall before she looked down and decided she was done. I was proud of her for attempting. More bravery than she had a year ago.

I hosted a little baby shower for a friend of mine in the ward on the 26th. Her mom and sisters did all the favors, food and games so it was pretty easy for me. I always like hanging out with my friends from the ward. They are amazing women.
Alissa had a fever for 8 days so we took her to the doctor and kept in touch with the Dr. office trying to figure out what she had going on. Other than a fever and a head ache she didn't really have any other symptoms. After 8 days it went away so we are calling it a virus. I am truly grateful to have a healthy family and I hope I can always have that blessing cause it's rough to have a sick kiddo.
We have had some pretty HOT days so we bought a little pool and have had so much fun playing in the water outside. These two are becoming a little better friends thank goodness! Molly has passed Alissa by about 4 pounds now and I would say she is less than 1/2" shorter, if that! I get asked more and more if they are twins and I'm sure it won't be long before they will mistake Molly for the older one.
Their personalities are quite different though so hopefully that will reduce competition for them.
We rearranged bedrooms so Alissa and Molly share now and Ella has her own space. They have all 3 loved it until night time. Then Ella gets a little whiney about being all alone. I keep hoping it's like taking a binki away from a baby and within the week she will be used to it. :)
Ella super loves it during the day though and has done amazing at keeping her room all tidy. She likes to go in there and shut the door. The first day we rearranged I found her standing on her bed looking at herself in the mirror with a fake cell phone up to her ear. She said, "I'm just pretending." Cracked me up that having her own room made her feel so big. :)
In between all that I have been trying to keep up with haircuts on Tuesdays and encourage the kids to do their reading and Ella piano practice. The kid's schedules are pretty messed up right now staying up after 10 and sleeping until after 9. We made little reading snakes so they get to write on one of the triangles when they read for a certain amount of time and after a chunk of reading they get a certain prize like go out for ice cream. It has motivated them better than anything else I can figure out this summer so we're going with it.
We have a trip to Rigby Lake, a Cousin Camp and a camping trip planned for the next few weeks and I'm excited to hear the report on the Encampment soon too. Yay for summer!!
