Lincoln Stake Garden

Our wise stake president arranged for a large area of land which will eventually be used for a new church house to be used as a stake garden this summer.  Each ward takes turns weeding it and the food is used to benefit families that are in need of assistance.  I think it's a brilliant idea.  The families receiving assistance are especially encouraged to serve at the garden.

So it was our ward's turn to weed again this week and Dustin we were humbled by the sight of so many ward members who came out to help.  Each one of them as you could image had a big smile on their face and were having a great time visiting with each other as they pulled weeds and made the garden beautiful.

The Relief Society president, Sister Orr rented a few snow cone machines and she and some other sisters served snow cones to all who came out.  It was a wonderful evening and made me so appreciate the leadership in our ward and stake and the amazing ward family we have.
