Independence Day 2019

Happy 4th of July!  We woke up bright and early to attend the Jenkins breakfast again this year.  It's such a kind thing they offer the community to serve pancakes, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy and hashbrowns.   Our kids have come to love this and wanted to do it even more than getting candy at the parade.

Even though we were 20 minutes late to the parade they hadn't got to the end of the street so we made it on time and some kind people let us squeeze into a corner which was like the only tiny corner we could find.  It also happened to be on the east side of the street and under a tree so we were shaded the entire parade and the kids actually got cold.  Amazing!

I love these kids so much!  They really are what makes the world turn for their dad an I.

Gracie's first 4th of July.  She thought the flag tasted pretty good. :)

I'm not sure we've ever actually found matching shirts for the family but this year we were able to get all the kids matching shirts and Dustin and I matching shirts and it was fun.

After the parade, we headed to my parents for a picnic and let the kids play with their cousins. We stayed clear until fireworks started which we could see pretty good from mom and dad's driveway.  It made for a long day but a fun one.  Truly I don't know how different our world would be if we didn't have the liberty to choose.  I feel so grateful for all those who have served and are serving our country including my husband who does it quietly for his job.  We are safer because of them.  God Bless America!!
